Eighteen tools an agent can call
AI agents are good at writing a deck's content and bad at producing the file, because they have no hands in Google Slides. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the standard way to give an agent new tools, so I wrote an MCP server for Slides. It has no screen of its own; agents call its tools. Here it is in the MCP Inspector, connected and listing all 18, for decks, slides, text, images, shapes, backgrounds, icons, photos, templates and sharing. The workhorse is build_slide, which sets the background and places every text box, shape and image in one call, so an agent builds a deck slide by slide instead of one element at a time.
